Capacitive deionization

29. 11. 2021

Laboratory of Microchemical Biochemical Engineering is looking for urgently looking for a student, who would help us with development of an electrochemical reactor with 3D porous electrodes, which would serve as a capacitive deionizator.

In case of interest, please do not hesitate to contact doc. Slouka (sloukaz@vscht.cz) or Ing. Halada (haladas@vscht.cz).

Students needed

10. 09. 2020

Laboratory of Microchemical Biochemical Engineering is looking for highly motivated students to work on cutting edge scientific projects and offering the following thesis topics:

For Bc students

Prof. Michal Přibyl

  • Microfluidic membrane devices for separation of optical isomers
  • Synthesis of optically active compounds in bioreactors and microbioreactors

Assoc. Prof. Zdenek Slouka

  • Characterization of a miniaturized redox flow batery with electrodes made of nanostructured materials
  • Methods for transfer of microstructures made in SU8 photoresist into plexiglass plates
  • Measurement of concentration profiles establishing in a diluate channel of a miniaturized electrodialysis system
  • Particle image velocimetry as a method to track electroconvective structures occurring on ion exchange systems

For MSc students

Assoc. Prof. Zdenek Slouka

  • Tracking of electroconvective structures occurring on ion exchange systems in the vertical direction

Prof. Michal Přibyl

  • Enzyme synthesis of optically active compounds in microbioreactors
  • Fabrication of microfluidic devices for the synthesis and separation of optical isomers
